SUP THE CREEK

This iconic race returns in 2026

SUP the Creek 2026 –

SUP The Creek is a two day SUP event (you can do a single day) which for many is a fantastic challenge on a beautiful estuary. This challenge is what makes the event unique compared to other races and one eagerly anticipated in the race calendar. Our race team and support boats have been working hard to deliver SUP The Creek to ensure we can host a race that is fun, safe and challenging to varying competency levels so that there is something for everyone.

With 3 distances to choose from on the Distance Race 1 day, 1km, 6km and 12km and a 6km Technical Race and Beach Sprints the next there should be challenge for all levels of paddler. This year see’s our Tech race + Beach Sprints race at South Sands on Saturday 3rd October 2026. On Sunday 4th at our HQ in Kingsbridge, all of which should make for a fun weekend of racing.

Entry requirements

SUP The Creek welcomes a wide range of paddlers from intermediate ability through to experienced racers. Depending on the weather conditions, the course can be challenging with chop and wind but have various back up options to move to more sheltered locations.

We want this to be a fun – and safe – event for everyone involved. This means that all entrants must, as a minimum, be able to:

  • Paddle, unaided, for the distance selected in all weather conditions.
  • Complete the course in 3 under hours.

Consider spending time practising, training and maybe undertaking a coaching programme to prepare for the event.

Saturday 3rd Oct

The Saturday will be the Technical race, we head down to the other end of the Estuary and overlook the English Channel.

Our start and finish location will be the beautiful South Sands and the race will *fingers crossed* have waves on both the bar and at North Sands with beach runs at South Sands between each lap.
