Rachel Booton and Crispin Jones have been selected to represent Great Britain in the ICF SUP World Championships in Abu Dhabi. The event takes place on the 29th October 2025 – 2nd November. Rachel has been selected to do the Technical Race and Crispin the Distance Race. It is a huge honour to be selected but it does come at a cost which, due to the nature of paddleboarding still being a relatively new sport is self funded by the athletes. They have setup a GoFundme page but are also raising money via a Vintage SUP Rally event from Kingsbridge to Salcombe and also hosting an Auction of Promises with donations from businesses across the South West.
Rachel and Crispin have been training hard to do their country proud but need your help to get them to the Championships.
Auction of Promises
A huge thank you to all the wonderful people and businesses which have rallied to help our Kingsbridge SUPerstars and donated. Any funds raised which exceed what is needed to get them out to the World Championships will be donated to the RNLI
Proceeds go toward getting Team GB Athletes and their kit to Abu Dhabi, any surplus funds go to the RNLI

Auction Rules
Auction of Promises – 27th September 2025
Proceeds will go towards getting Kingsbridge’s two Team GB Athletes to the World Championships in Abu Dhabi, any funds over the total required will be donated to the RNLI.

There will be an option to place a bid via Email at info@waterborn.uk.com until Friday 26th September at 17:00pm
Any prior bids will be listed against the item on the website, bids after the cut-off will not be counted. Starting bids on the day of the auction will begin with any prior bids placed online or at 10% market value of the item/service, which-ever is highest. We reserve the right to not sell the item/service if it does not reach 10% of its market value.
Bids on the day will be hosted at (insert lunch/drinks location) and held as a running auction with (Crispin or another) as auctioneer. Bids will increase to the nearest rounded £5 increments (£11 bid will ask to raise to £15 then £20 etc)
Successful bids will then be asked to pay via the GoFundme link provided, the voucher or details will then be passed to the winner. A ‘live’ running total will be displayed at the venue so we can see how much more is needed to be raised.
Promises that have a deadline/expiry date will be made clear on the website and also at the start of the auction. Online bid winners will be asked to collect their promise from Waterborn (please communicate when you will be popping in) If a promise cannot be fulfilled for whatever reason then it is the responsibility of the company/person providing the promise to arrange a suitable outcome for the winner
