Waterborn Hub CIC – Our Projects to inspire
Our mission to improve water safety, promote healthier physical and mental well being and inspire movement throughout the year drives the projects in our community. Founder Crispin, knows full well that the estuary is a lifeline our younger generations need to embrace and enjoy.
Below are some of the projects we have applied for grant funding to run in 2026 – Only those with further details links are live funded projects at this stage

Blue Horizons Paddle Project - Awaiting Response
Year 5/6 students
Providing as many Year 5 and 6 Students within the community the opportunity to Paddleboard, learn vital skills and help shape their appreciation of the natural world before they head into secondary school.

Blue Horizons SUP Club - Awaiting Response
10 – 18 Year olds
Providing regular sessions to improve teamworking, water safety knowledge, skills and physical / mental health afloat.

SUP Young Leaders Pathway - Awaiting Response
14 – 18 Year olds
Over a series of 7 sessions learn water safety, group management, critical skills and have the opportunity to take the Level 1 BSUPA SUP Instructors Training Course

Paddle and Pick: Community / Young Futures Water Stewardship Initiative - Awaiting Response
Ages (TBC) 6 – 70+
Being champions of our own waterways and inspiring the community to be guardians of nature for the enjoyment of all.

SUP Safe Community Project - Awaiting Response
Ages 10 – 70+
Providing life saving water safety knowledge for all, helping yourself and others afloat

Fit SUP In - Awaiting Response
Ages 14 – 70+
Shaping good practice to inspire year round healthy exercise habits, especially in the winter when seasonal drop off is common.

Blue Sky - Awaiting Response
Ages 14 – 60
A clear, judgement free space to unwind and practice good mental health exercises. A focus on Blue Sky Thinking to achieve future goals

The Floating Easel - Awaiting Response
Ages 10 – 70+
Paint the estuary from a unique perspective, artwork to be displayed in public spaces around the community and then auctioned to fund other community projects both in the Hub and other suggestions from the council.

Women's Social Paddle - Awaiting Response
Ages 14 – 70+
An opportunity to paddle with like minded people and learn about the surrounding waterways

Aqua Paddle - Active
Ages 14 – 70+
A Monthly timed 5km Paddle on a Sunday akin to Park Run, with support from volunteers and South Hams District Council.

Finding Focus - Active
Ages 14 – 70+
Finding Flow and Finding Focus are Waterborn Hub’s inclusive paddleboarding sessions designed for people with additional needs, impairments, and neurodivergence. Together, they offer a supportive pathway onto the water where participants can build confidence, develop skills, and experience the wellbeing benefits of blue space at their own pace.
Finding Focus uses paddleboard yoga, breathwork, and mindful movement to support regulation, reduce anxiety, and improve body awareness on the water.

Finding Flow - Active
Ages 14 – 70+
Finding Flow and Finding Focus are Waterborn Hub’s inclusive paddleboarding sessions designed for people with additional needs, impairments, and neurodivergence. Together, they offer a supportive pathway onto the water where participants can build confidence, develop skills, and experience the wellbeing benefits of blue space at their own pace.
Finding Flow focuses on practical paddling skills, confidence, and connection with the water and nature, through gentle, progressive coaching in a calm, welcoming environment.
